Statement

This work was built on site over 12 days. A series of poles are concreted into the centre point and steel pipe armatures bolted to the pole. The 8 – 12 steel pipes are bent in semicircle arcs and wood is notched and placed into the pipe structure. As the firewood pieces build in volume, they are attached to the consecutive pieces of firewood using fencing wire and fencing staples.

The sphere surfaces are designed to weather and age to a textural grey and they will last structurally for 20+ years before possible degrading of the wood may require restacking….
